UK Lotto uses 6 main numbers from 1 to 59. There are 45,057,474 possible six-number combinations in one result round. Under the current two-round format, the same entered line is checked against two separate result rounds, each with its own Bonus Ball.
UK Lotto top-prize chance by unique lines
The table assumes every line is different in the same draw. Repeating a line does not cover another possible combination. The approximate chance below is for matching all six numbers in either current Lotto round.

How the calculation works
For one Lotto result round, the chance is:
unique lines ÷ 45,057,474 × 100
For the current two-round Lotto format, the draw-level chance is:
1 - (1 - unique lines ÷ 45,057,474)²
Example: with 7 unique UK Lotto lines, the chance of matching all six numbers in either round is about 0.000031071%, or about 1 in 3,218,391.

This calculator assumes every line is unique. Repeated lines do not cover another possible combination. It shows the chance of matching the full top-prize combination only, not the chance of winning any smaller prize. Cost is an estimate using £2 per UK Lotto line; official channels and prices always prevail.
Why unique UK Lotto lines matter
If 21 UK Lotto entries are planned but 5 are repeats, the group has only 16 unique combinations. Repeated lines do not cover extra six-number combinations.
Lottery-Checker cannot improve the official odds of any individual line. The practical benefit is organisation: if a line is already marked as used here, another player can choose a different line and cover a different combination instead of repeating the same one.

Frequently asked questions
Are these the chances of winning any prize?
No. They show the chance of matching all six numbers in either of the two current Lotto rounds only. Smaller prize tiers have different odds.
Does avoiding duplicate lines improve my odds?
It does not improve the odds of one individual line. It can help a group avoid repeating the same planned combination and cover more unique combinations.
Does marking a line buy a ticket?
No. Marking a line on Lottery-Checker is only a planning action. It does not buy a ticket or enter anyone into a draw.
Lotto rules and a two-round checking example
A Lotto line contains six different numbers from 1–59. In the current format, compare those same six numbers separately with Round 1 and Round 2. Each round has its own six main numbers and Bonus Ball. You do not select an additional Bonus Ball.
Illustrative numbers, not actual results: your line is 4, 13, 22, 31, 40, 49. If Round 1 is 4, 13, 22, 31, 40, 50 with Bonus Ball 49, that is five main matches plus the Bonus Ball in Round 1. If Round 2 is 4, 8, 13, 17, 22, 26 with Bonus Ball 31, that is three main matches in Round 2. Do not combine matches between rounds, and do not count the Bonus Ball as an extra main match.
Open the Lotto checker or choose the exact date in the Lotto archive. Older draws may use the earlier one-round format: use the rounds published for that date.
Formula and assumptions
C(n, k) = n! / (k! × (n − k)!)
N = C(59, 6) = 45,057,474
P(at least one six-number match across two rounds) = 1 − (1 − u/N)2
u counts distinct six-number lines for that draw, from 0 to N. This assumes both rounds are independent, all unordered six-number outcomes are equally likely, and the same lines are entered in both rounds. The formula returns a probability; multiply by 100 for a percentage. The result is slightly below 2u/N because matching in both rounds must be counted only once.
The Bonus Ball affects the five-plus-Bonus category, but not the six-main-number combination total. The calculator excludes smaller prizes, the chance of sharing a jackpot, and prize amounts. For d independent draw nights in the same format, use 1 − (1 − u/N)2d.
