Short summary

No accounts required: you can use the tool without creating an account or sharing your real name.
Optional Google Analytics: if you choose Allow analytics, we use Google Analytics for traffic measurement and basic usage statistics. If you choose No analytics, we do not load Google Analytics.
Cookie choices: you can change your choice at any time using the “Cookie settings” button.
Shared tool: if you mark a combination as “used”, that state is visible to everyone for the current draw cycle.
Last draw: lines linked to your browser may be archived so they can be compared with the manually checked result and offered back to the same browser as a planning shortcut. The default browser-association retention period is 365 days.
Your device and our server have different roles: your browser stores preferences and a necessary session cookie. The server stores My lines and associates them with that pseudonymous session.
Security logs: like most websites, we keep limited server logs to keep the service secure and reliable.

This Privacy Policy explains how Lottery-Checker (“we”, “us”, “our”) collects and uses information when you use lottery-checker.co.uk (the “Service”).

Lottery-Checker is an independent results checker and combination planner. It can compare lines linked to your browser with a manually checked draw result, and it can compare lines you type into the result window for a one-off on-screen check. We do not sell tickets, accept stakes, process payments, validate tickets, or enter you into any draw. Using the Service does not constitute a lottery entry.

1. Who is responsible for your data?

The Service is operated by Lottery-Checker (an independent online tool). If you have questions about this Policy or your data, contact: lttrchecker@gmail.com.

2. What information we collect

2.1 Information you provide (support email)

If you contact us by email, we will process your email address and the contents of your message to respond and provide support. We do not use support emails for marketing.

2.2 Technical data (server logs)

When you access the Service, our systems automatically collect limited technical information to operate and protect the site, such as:

IP address (and an approximate location inferred from the IP)
browser/device information (e.g., user agent, OS)
date/time of requests, pages/endpoints accessed, and basic error diagnostics

This information is stored in standard server logs and used for security, abuse prevention, rate-limiting, and troubleshooting.

2.3 App data (combinations and planner state)

The Service supports multiple games (e.g., EuroMillions, Set For Life, Lotto, Thunderball and Powerball) and lets you interact with combinations. There are three different types of data involved:

A) “Used” combinations (shared/public within the tool)

When a combination is marked “used”, it becomes marked as used for everyone for that game during the current draw cycle. At the scheduled board reset, the shared board is cleared so planning can begin for the next cycle. For Powerball, the reset is the 11:55pm UK sales cutoff on Monday, Wednesday and Saturday. The draw takes place early the next morning.

B) “My lines” and preferences (linked to your browser)

A random session identifier in a necessary cookie lets the server associate your marked lines with this browser. Preferences such as theme and last game may also be stored in localStorage. Another browser or device normally receives a different identifier, and clearing site data may reset the association.

C) Last-draw archive and notification state

At the scheduled board reset, combinations linked to each browser may be copied into a last-draw archive. We also record whether that browser has dismissed the result notification. The archive contains number combinations, game/draw details, the pseudonymous session identifier, and timestamps. It does not require your name, ticket number, payment information, retailer, stake, or proof of purchase. If available, archived lines may be shown back to the same browser in the Use last draw lines planning shortcut.

D) Manually typed result-check lines

If you type lines into Check your own lines, those lines are sent to the server for a one-off comparison with the displayed draw. They are not retained, added to the shared board or added to My lines. The Service does not treat them as a ticket purchase, entry, validation or claim.

We do not require your real name to use the Service. We aim to minimise personal data and do not build marketing profiles.

2.4 Cookies and analytics

The Service uses a small amount of browser storage for core functionality and preferences (see section 2.3). In addition, we use Google Analytics only if you consent via our cookie banner.

If you choose Allow analytics: we load the Google Analytics tag and collect basic analytics data, such as page views and general usage information, to understand how the Service is used and improve performance and usability.
If you choose No analytics: we do not load Google Analytics and we do not place analytics cookies through Google Analytics.

You can change your choice at any time using the on-site “Cookie settings” control (usually shown at the bottom-left of the page). Withdrawing consent will take effect going forward and will not undo processing that already took place while consent was active.

Performance measurements

The site measures loading performance, interaction responsiveness and layout movement locally in your browser (LCP, INP and CLS). Without analytics consent, those measurements stay in the browser. If you allow analytics, we may send performance metric names, values, changes, ratings, metric identifiers, navigation type and the page URL without its query string or fragment through Google Analytics. These performance events do not include typed number combinations or contact information.

2.5 Third-party services (e.g., random.org)

If you enable “true random”, the Service's server may request random numbers from random.org. Your browser does not make that request directly. random.org receives the server connection details and request metadata, but we do not send it your Lottery-Checker session identifier, marked lines or manually typed result-check lines. random.org operates under its own privacy policy.

3. How and why we use information

We use the information described above for the following purposes:

To operate the Service - to provide the planner, archive completed-draw lines, compare them with a manually checked result, display the Last draw notification, compare manually typed lines on screen, and offer selected archived lines back as a planning shortcut.
To keep the Service secure and reliable - preventing abuse, applying rate limits, investigating issues, and fixing bugs.
To improve the Service - understanding performance and feature usage at a high level (not for marketing profiling).
To understand site usage - if you consent, to collect aggregated traffic and usage statistics through Google Analytics so we can improve the Service.
To comply with law - where we must retain certain logs or respond to lawful requests.

4. Legal bases (UK GDPR)

Under UK GDPR we must have a lawful basis for processing personal data. Depending on the context, we rely on:

Legitimate interests - running a secure, useful planning tool and protecting it from abuse, balanced against your rights.
Performance of a contract - providing the Service you request when you use the site (even without an account).
Consent - for optional Google Analytics cookies and analytics processing where you choose “Allow analytics”.
Legal obligation - where we must retain or disclose information to comply with applicable law.

5. How long we keep information (retention)

Server logs: typically retained for a limited period (commonly 30-90 days) for security and troubleshooting, unless a longer period is needed to investigate a specific incident.
Current shared “used” combinations: retained for the current draw cycle, then cleared from the active shared board at the scheduled board reset.
Draw results, archived lines and notification state: published draw results are retained as permanent public history. By default, the pseudonymous browser association is removed from archived lines and browser notification records are deleted when they are more than 365 days old. Public draw history and non-browser-linked aggregate line records are preserved. The backend setting BROWSER_ARCHIVE_RETENTION_DAYS controls this period. Setting it to 0 disables automatic browser-archive cleanup. Any production change to that setting should be reflected in this Policy.
Browser storage (your device): retained until you clear your browser/site data or it is overwritten by your settings (this includes preferences such as theme and your cookie consent choice).
Support emails: kept only as long as reasonably necessary to resolve your request and maintain a short support history.

6. Sharing of information

We do not sell or trade users’ personal data. We may share information only with:

Service providers (e.g., hosting/infrastructure providers) who process data on our behalf to run the site, under appropriate safeguards.
Google (Google Analytics) - only if you consent, we load Google Analytics to measure traffic and general usage patterns. Google may process related analytics data in accordance with its own privacy documentation.
Authorities where we are legally required to do so (e.g., court order or lawful request).
Third-party services you choose to use (e.g., server-side random.org requests when “true random” is enabled).

7. International transfers

Our servers and service providers may be located in the UK or EEA. If personal data is transferred outside the UK/EEA, we will use appropriate safeguards (for example, standard contractual clauses or an adequacy decision), where required. Where you consent to Google Analytics, Google may process data in locations outside the UK/EEA in line with its own arrangements and safeguards.

8. Your rights

Subject to conditions and exceptions, you may have rights under UK GDPR in relation to personal data about you:

Access - request a copy of personal data we hold about you.
Rectification - ask us to correct inaccurate data.
Erasure - ask us to delete data in certain circumstances.
Restriction - ask us to limit processing in certain cases.
Objection - object to processing based on legitimate interests.
Portability - receive certain data in a usable format, where applicable.

You can also complain to the UK Information Commissioner’s Office (ICO): ico.org.uk.

9. Children and age restriction

This Service is for users aged 18+. We do not knowingly collect personal data relating to children under 18. If you believe a child has provided us with personal data, contact us and we will take appropriate steps to delete it.

10. Security

We use reasonable technical and organisational measures to help protect the Service and data. No internet service can be 100% secure, but we work to reduce risks (e.g., rate-limiting, access controls, monitoring).

11. Changes to this Privacy Policy

We may update this Policy from time to time. The “Last updated” date at the top shows when it was last revised.
