About Lottery-Checker and our methodology
An independent place to compare lottery results, understand the mathematics and organise planned number combinations.
Who maintains the site
The site and its guides are maintained under the name Lottery-Checker. That is the byline used for our editorial guides and the name recorded when an administrator checks a result. Questions about the site, its content or your data can be sent to lttrchecker@gmail.com.
Lottery-Checker is independent of The National Lottery, Allwyn and the operators of the games it covers. We do not sell or reserve tickets, accept stakes, submit entries, validate tickets or pay prizes. A mark on the shared board is a visitor's planning signal. It is not proof of an official entry.
The shared planner board
Each game has a shared planner board showing the complete combinations visitors have marked for its current planning cycle. Marks are visible to everyone, so you can check a line's current status while organising your own selections. The board updates as visitors make changes and resets on the selected game's schedule.
My lines shows the selected game's lines associated with this browser. In the combination browser, Only marked lines shows current marks from all visitors, including your own. Hide marked lines shows unmarked combinations. Both filters are available to everyone.
A board mark records a planning choice on this website. It does not reserve numbers or show every official ticket bought elsewhere. Someone else choosing the same numbers does not change your line's chance of matching the draw.
See the shared-board checking guide for the controls and status labels. To find repeats within your own list, use the Duplicate Line Checker.
Our sources
Published draw records use The National Lottery's official result pages. Individual result pages link to the official record for that game and draw. The operator's current game procedures and official ticket record take precedence if anything differs.
- Official Lotto draw history
- Official EuroMillions draw history
- Official Set For Life draw history
- Official Thunderball draw history
- Official UK Powerball draw history
Game and odds guides link their rule sources, including The National Lottery game summaries and the official Powerball website. Worked examples are labelled as illustrative. They are not presented as real winning draws. Historical results describe the format used on their own date.
How results are checked and compared
- The administrator uses the official draw record to check the game, date, draw number, main numbers, special balls, applicable rounds and available prize information.
- Before publication, the administrator must confirm that the result was manually checked. The site also checks the selection counts, allowed number ranges, duplicates within each pool and the official source reference.
- The published record identifies its source and checking details. These checks reduce data-entry mistakes. They are not an independent audit by the official operator.
- The comparison counts main and special-ball matches separately for each complete line. Each Lotto round is compared separately with its own Bonus Ball. Matches from different lines, dates or rounds are never added together.
- Saved lines must belong to the relevant browser and draw. Manually entered lines are compared with the result displayed on screen. Possible-prize labels use the published category information, and cannot establish whether an official ticket exists or is payable.
Always check the exact draw date and verify the original ticket and any possible prize through the official operator. Results may appear here after the operator publishes them. A missing archive record means we have not published it, rather than proving that no draw took place.
How the odds calculations work
We count unordered selections of distinct numbers using C(n, k) = n! / (k! × (n - k)!). For independent main and special-ball pools, we multiply the pool totals. If N is the number of complete possible outcomes and u is the number of distinct complete lines for one round, the top-prize match probability is u/N.
For two independent Lotto rounds using the same lines, the probability of at least one six-number match is 1 - (1 - u/N)2. The model assumes each valid outcome is equally likely and rounds are independent. Repeating a complete line within the same draw does not increase u. Percentages are probabilities multiplied by 100.
These calculations exclude smaller prizes, raffles, optional extras, prize sharing and the value or timing of payments. They do not predict future numbers or estimate a profitable strategy. Line costs are labelled estimates. Check current official prices and rules. See the odds calculator and game examples.
Corrections and editorial dates
To report an error, email lttrchecker@gmail.com with the affected page URL, game and draw date where relevant, the information you believe is wrong, and an official source link. There is no need to send payment details or a photograph showing a ticket barcode.
The maintainer reviews reports against the source material before making a correction. Corrected draw records can retain a dated audit entry and show a public correction note when one is supplied. A result that cannot be supported can be withdrawn while it is reviewed. We do not promise a fixed response time.
Guide bylines identify Lottery-Checker as the author. An original publication date is shown only where one is recorded. We do not infer one from a file timestamp. The update date reflects a substantive editorial revision, and matches the guide's Article metadata. It is separate from a lottery draw date or result verification time.
Privacy approach
No account or real name is required. A necessary pseudonymous session cookie lets the server associate marked and archived lines with this browser. The current shared board is visible to other visitors. Browser-linked archives use a configurable retention period, with a default of 365 days. Clearing browser storage alone does not delete existing server records.
Lines typed for a one-off result check are sent to the server for that comparison and are not retained or added to the shared board. Local performance measurements stay in your browser unless you allow analytics. With analytics consent, performance metrics and a page URL without query or fragment can be reported through Google Analytics. Typed lottery lines and contact details are not included in those performance events.
Third-party analytics loads only after you choose Allow analytics. Use Cookie settings to change that choice. Contact emails and limited security logs have their own purposes and retention considerations. See the Privacy Policy for the full details and data requests.
Responsible use
This site is for adults aged 18 and over. Every valid line keeps its mathematical odds. Previous draws, random suggestions and shared-board marks do not make a line more likely to win. If playing stops being enjoyable, use the National Lottery responsible-play information and support links.
